Jaye Richards crime thriller author portrait

Who is Jaye Richards?

Jaye Richards spent over three decades in law enforcement—serving with a Southern California police department, sheriff’s office, and county probation department. Nearly twenty of those years were spent in investigations: interviewing victims, building cases, and sitting across from men who thought they’d never be caught—and holding them accountable when they were.

His debut novel, Lost Souls—Shattered Chains, draws from that world. It’s the first in a series that doesn’t shy away from trauma, darkness, or moral ambiguity—but still holds a line of hope in the shadows.

Richards writes crime fiction the way it feels when you live it: raw, personal, and never fully clean.

He writes for readers who want more than a body count—those who understand that justice, like love, rarely comes without scars.
